Credit & Premium Finance Consultant

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Eastleigh (Can consider full remote working with occasional travel to Eastleigh)

Salary: c£65,000 Dependent on Experience

Our highly reputable client within the Insurance Sector have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Credit & Premium Finance Consultant. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the oversight, performance and management of our clients insurance premium finance and credit process whilst providing ongoing expertise to ensure best practice and adherence to the Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC).

As a Credit & Premium Finance Consultant, you will be an expert on all things credit, and will use your stakeholder management skills to communicate and drive any change related to credit across the business. You will also be the Subject Matter Expert for credit on any related business projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for delivering and maintaining an effective insurance premium finance journey that delivers good customer outcomes, through taking a leading role in any Premium Finance and credit projects.
  • To support in the design and planning of what an optimal position for our client looks like in the offering of premium finance and adherence to CONC.
  • To regularly review premium credit performance, including but not limited to, delivering fair value to the customer and commercial objectives, and challenge where required.
  • To work closely with the Compliance Department to ensure Premium Finance meets regulatory expectations.
  • Regularly collaborate with Pricing on Credit Worthiness (credit risk and affordability) decisions to ensure it delivers appropriate decisions, to protect the credit risk exposure and deliver effective affordability checks to mitigate the harm to customers.

In order to be successful in this role, our client is ideally looking for the following:

  • Qualified Chartered Institute of Credit Manager, or extensive relevant experience if no recognised qualification
  • Expert in understanding Credit Regulations and detailed knowledge of UK regulation and legislation including FCA / PRA principles
  • Knowledge of audit, compliance and risk management practices, frameworks and market trends.
  • Experience of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including technical teams.
  • Consultative, approachable and persistent. Good at probing facts and challenging assumptions.
